Veteran Orange County, California punk act Sense Field originally released Building on a small indie; its re-release some months later comes courtesy of the band's new label, Warner Bros. Sense Field make perfectly realized, oddly gentle pop punk that isn't afraid of things like melodies and hooks, and they have in lead singer Jonathan Bunch a frontman with a voice high and melodious enough to make him sound, it's been said, like Lindsay Buckingham singing for Fugazi. It's an apt enough comparison, though Sense Field at times bears as much in common with mainstream acts like, say, Goldfinger, as it does with Fugazi, and at times more so.
